Who is Rover (Aero)?
Rover (Aero) is the protagonist's Aero resonance form in Wuthering Waves — unlocked via a story quest in the Rinascita region. As an Aero DPS using a Sword, Rover (Aero) is the third and final protagonist form, providing Aero team resonance capability. While considered the weakest of the three Rover forms for raw personal DPS, Rover (Aero) enables the double-Aero resonance bonus when paired with Jiyan or Jianxin, making them a situational team slot for Aero-focused compositions.

Yes — it's completely free and unlocking all three Rover forms costs nothing beyond completing the story quests. Even if Spectro Rover is your primary form, having Aero Rover available for Aero team compositions is a free upgrade to your roster depth.
How does Rover (Aero) compare to Aalto for Jiyan teams?
Aalto provides off-field Mist Avatar procs and +23% Aero Outro (slightly higher than Rover's Outro). Rover (Aero) has higher personal DPS but lacks Aalto's taunt utility. Both enable Aero resonance. Aalto is the stronger Sub-DPS/support; Rover (Aero) is a simpler option that requires no pulls.
When was Rover (Aero) form added?
Rover (Aero) was added in the Rinascita content region (WuWa 2.0+ area). Unlike Spectro and Havoc forms which were available at launch in Huanglong, the Aero form requires progressing to the Rinascita chapter of the main story.
