Who is Yanqing?

Yanqing is a 5★ Ice standard character following the Path of The Hunt. The young general of the Xianzhou Luofu, he is a high-ceiling single-target DPS whose kit relies on maintaining his Soulsteel Sync buff — a powerful CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG boost that is instantly lost if Yanqing takes any direct HP damage. This fragility makes him heavily team-dependent: he strictly requires a shielder (Gepard or Aventurine) in every team. In 4.2 he occupies a niche as a budget single-target DPS for players who have Gepard already.

Talent (Soulsteel Sync)

While no ally's Shield has broken, Yanqing gains a significant CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG buff and has a chance to launch a follow-up Ice attack that Freezes the enemy.

Ultimate (Amidst the Raining Bliss)

Deals major Ice DMG to a single target; applies Soulsteel Link on Yanqing for 2 turns (further increases CRIT Rate/DMG and follow-up chance).

Skill (Darting Irises)

Deals Ice DMG to a single enemy with a chance to Freeze.

Weakness

Soulsteel Sync is disabled the moment Yanqing's HP takes any damage — shield uptime is mandatory.

Yanqing is a niche single-target DPS strictly requiring a shielder to function, which limits team flexibility. He is outperformed by modern limited Hunt units (Feixiao, Seele, Boothill) in Patch 4.2. Pull only if you already own Gepard or Aventurine and lack a better Ice or single-target DPS.

Standard banner — obtainable from free pulls. Only Silence Remains is a free 4★ accessible from the Herta shop. His strict shield requirement means he needs Gepard (also standard) or Aventurine (limited) — plan accordingly.
