Who is Calcharo?
Calcharo is a 5★ Electro DPS using a Broadblade and one of the launch standard banner characters in Wuthering Waves. His kit is built around a unique Resonance Liberation burst loop — at max Forte, his Normal Attack chain transforms into a powered Electro "Death Messenger" sequence that deals extremely high single-target Electro DMG in a short window. While his standing peak burst is impressive, he has been outclassed in sustained DPS by Xiangli Yao and suffers without fast Concerto cycling from teammates.

Xiangli Yao has better sustained DPS and a more combat-fluid kit. Calcharo's advantage is standard banner availability — no FOMO. For players who pull their Electro DPS from the limited banner, Xiangli Yao is the upgrade; for players who want a free option, Calcharo works.
What is the Death Messenger sequence?
Death Messenger is Calcharo's empowered Normal Attack state triggered at max Forte. In this state, his Normal Attacks transform into a special 3-hit Electro chain with very high damage multipliers. The entire burst rotation aims to enter Death Messenger as frequently as possible.
Does Calcharo need Yinlin?
Yinlin provides significant damage through off-field Judgment Mark procs and Outro Electro buff — she improves any Electro DPS. Without Yinlin, Calcharo still functions but falls more clearly behind Xiangli Yao. Yinlin + Calcharo is a workable pair.
