Who is Baicang?
Baicang is a T0.5 Incantation-attribute Main DPS and the dominant DoT dealer in NTE at launch. Prydwen calls him "the DoT king" — his sustained Incantation damage can track high-movement bosses even when they jump away, a unique advantage in the current boss roster. He is one of the most complex characters to play, requiring careful combo execution and HP management (his kit trades HP for damage). All Awakenings are obtainable as an A-rank, and his damage output justifies the investment. With full dupes he also gains a secondary support role, buffing teammates.

What is the Scorch reaction?
Scorch triggers when Chaos and Incantation attributes are on the same team. It inflicts DoT on enemies. Baicang (Incantation) + Daffodil (Chaos) are the core Scorch pair; Sakiri's passive amplifies all DoT taken by Scorch-affected enemies by up to 100%.
Does Baicang need dupes?
No — he performs at T0.5 with zero Awakenings. With all copies he gains a secondary support role, buffing teammates. The power jump from dupes is meaningful but not required for strong performance.
Why does his kit trade HP?
Baicang's damage mechanics reduce his own HP as part of his kit — this is intentional. The Camellia Society Arc feeds off these HP reductions to stack CRIT DMG buffs. Running a healer (Edgar, Fadia) or shield support (Adler) compensates for the HP drain.
