Who is Aalto?
Aalto is a 4★ Aero Sub-DPS using Pistols and the most accessible Aero damage dealer in Wuthering Waves. His signature mechanic is Mist Avatar — a copy of himself made of mist that draws enemy attention and triggers coordinated Aero hits when enemies attack it. He provides off-field Aero DMG through his Mist Avatar and his Outro Skill grants an Aero DMG Bonus to the next character. He is the natural third slot in Jiyan teams who want to maximise Aero resonance without spending on a 5★ Aero Sub-DPS.

Is Aalto a DPS or a support?
He is a Sub-DPS/support hybrid — his Mist Avatar provides off-field Aero DMG (Sub-DPS function) and his Outro gives +23% Aero DMG Bonus to the next character (support function). He deals less personal damage than a dedicated DPS but contributes more team utility.
How does the Mist Avatar taunt work?
When Aalto's Mist Avatar is active, enemies within range prioritise attacking it over your characters. This gives your main DPS (Jiyan) freedom to execute their combo without dodge interruption. The Avatar takes damage instead of your team until it expires.
Is Aalto necessary for Jiyan?
Not necessary, but he is the best F2P partner for Jiyan. Yangyang covers Concerto generation; Aalto covers off-field Aero damage + Outro buff. Using both Yangyang and Aalto in a Jiyan team maximises Aero resonance and Outro buffing, but Jianxin + Yangyang is a viable alternative.
